MICHELE ASSAF - USA (Artistic Director)


JAZZ, LYRICAL, ACTIVE-ISOLATED FLEXIBILITY

Internationally renowned director/choreographer Michèle Assaf has worked on Broadway, Off-Broadway, Regional and International Theater projects. Michèle directed and choreographed The Mariah Carey Charmbracelet World Tour, Mick Jagger Solo Tour, Michael Bolton 2002-6 Tour, Matchbox Twenty, the internationally acclaimed multimedia operas for The Houston Grand Opera; Carmen, Pagliacci and Madame Butterfly, and HGO’s 50th Anniversary Gala as well as Opera Pacific’s Aida, Samson and Delilah, Candide,Opera Odyssey 2001.. Other theatrical Projects include: Starmites (Tony Nomination), Bring In The Morning, Scenes From an Execution, Nine Armenians, It's A Bird... It's A Plane... It's Superman, Sweet Charity, Jesus Christ Superstar, Mata Hari, Bring In The Morning, Can Can, Jeanne La Pucelle, Strides, Topper and Annie. She directed the Broadway bound musical, The Alchemist.

In 1988-89 she choreographed for Lorella Cuccarini (Odiens -"Vola", Festival Bar, Telegatto) and for the Video clip of “Jovanotti” "La Mia Moto”. She has been the artistic director of Broadway a Tropea, a convention in the south of Italy since 2001 and is excited to bring to all dancers, World Dance Movement-The International Workshop starting the summer of 2009! Her teaching background is extensive, as she has trained dancers/teachers and renowned choreographers from NYC to LA and internationally for the past 30 years.

One of Michèle's most successful ventures is the creation of Tezoro Productions LIVE, founded in 2003 with Allison Ellner (Co-owner of Broadway Dance Center). The company's products, “LIVE at Broadway Dance Center" DVDs, are dedicated to bringing education to dancers worldwide through instructional DVDs with the best teachers the industry has to offer, your #1 Dance and Choreography Resource. Tezoro Productions LIVE has become the exclusive dance-training provider for HOPSports. These companies will deliver 21st century physical education/dance through the Tezoro dance library where MILLIONS of kids will utilize its unique multi-media, technology driven physical education system that merges media with technology! The two companies are creating 200 animated dance instructional files for release the spring of 2009, a brand new absolute beginner thru advanced beginners DVD series as well as the current Tezoro library.

BRUNO COLLINET  - FRANCE (Co-Artistic Director)


CONTEMPORARY, CHOREOGRAPHIC WORKSHOP

Teacher, choreographer and French dancer, he is endowed with charisma and sensibility. He is a master teacher at  the prestigious Pariginian Harmonic Studio Center, but gives stages throughout the world, including Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, US, Israel, Senegal, and Japan. He founded, directed and choreographed the Company “ Les Espaces Inquiets”, and he also choreographed for many international Companies, such as: Why No ( Bruno Agati- France), Nadine Yemini ( Tel Aviv- Israel), Dance Gallery ( Perugia- Italy), Baletakademien (Stockholm, Sweden). He participated in several theatre and television productions and musicals and won the Moliere prize for the best musical “Piaf, je t’aime”.

DESMOND RICHARDSON - USA

CONTEMPORARY, BALLET, COMPLEXIONS CHOREOGRAPHIC WORKSHOP

Desmond Richardson Co-Founder, Artistic Director of Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Madison's Who’s Who, and Master teacher in Contemporary Ballet (Queens, NY)

Hailed by The New York Times as one of the great modern dancers of his time, Desmond Richardson is a multi-talented artist who has mastered a wide range of classical, modern and contemporary dance genres. Praised for his powerful dancing and singular performance quality, Richardson has been the hallmark performer who has shaped the essence of the Complexions style for over a decade.

The Queens, New York native's immense talent was first recognized when, as a student at New York's High School for the Performing Arts, he received merit scholarships from The Ailey School, where he studied from 1983-1986, and the International Academie des Tanz in Koln, Germany, which he attended in 1984-1985. He is also a recipient of a 1986 Presidential Scholar Award for the Arts and a member of the Madison Who's Who worldwide professionals network. In 1987 Richardson joined Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, where he remained as a principal dancer for seven years. After leaving the Ailey company, he traveled to Germany to perform with Ballet Frankfurt. Since that time, Richardson has been a guest artist with renowned dance companies around the world, including the Swedish Opera Ballet, the Washington Ballet, Teatro al la Scala and the San Francisco Ballet. In 1997 he joined American Ballet Theatre as one of only 12 principal male artists, attracting considerable attention from fans and critics alike for his interpretations of the classical repertoire. When he danced the lead role in the company's world premiere of Othello, The New York Times described him as one of the most majestic dancers ever to tread the [Metropolitan Opera House] stage. In 1998, Richardson joined the original cast of the Broadway musical Fosse, for which he received a 1999 Tony Award nomination. His made his singing debut performing the songs of pop music icons Burt Bacharach and Hal David in the Broadway musical The Look of Love and also starred in the critically-acclaimed Movin' Out. He had a principal role in Debbie Allen's dance/theater presentation, Soul Possessed, which premiered at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in 1999. Working in television, film and video in the United States and abroad, Richardson has performed with such musical artists as Michael Jackson, Prince, Aretha Franklin and Madonna. He made his on-screen singing debut in Charles Randolph Wright's 2005 film Preaching to the Choir and is featured in Patrick Swayze and Lisa Niemi's film One Last Dance as well as the Oscar-winning movie adaptation of Chicago. Richardson appeared in Julie Taymor's film Across the Universe and also performed the lead role of Beowulf in her Grendel at the LA Opera and The New York State Theater. Richardson is a sought-after master teacher working nationally and internationally. Among his many honors are The Ailey School's 2006 Apex Award and the prestigious 2007 Dance Magazine Award. Recently, he partnered Diana Vishneva in her one-woman show Beauty in Motion at New York City Center, at the Orange County Performing Arts Center and in Moscow, Russia. In May 2008 he was one of two dancers invited by the President of the United States to perform at the 60th Presidential Conference in Israel. This summer, Richardson appeared on the Fox television hit, So You Think You Can Dance, for which he choreographed a duet with Dwight Rhoden and received many accolades from Nigel Lythgoe, the show's producer.

CLARISSA MUCCI - ITALY

BALLET

She was educated at the National Dance Academy, where she improved under the guidance of the Master Zarko Prebil regarding ballet dancing, and under the direction of the Master Jean Cebron and Irina Harris regarding modern dance. She kept studying and attending proficiency and refresher classes with the best known master of ballet dancing: Merle Park, director of the London Royal Ballet; Irina Trohmova, Nina Kurgakina, assistent choreographer and producer of the Marinsky Theatre of St. Petersburg; Elisabetta Terabust, director of the Opera School in Rome. She danced solo in ballets produced by the National Dance Academy and edited by the Master Zarko Prebil: “Le Sifilidi”, “Paquita”, “Giselle”, “Swans’ Lake”, “Don Chisciotte”, “the Nutcracker”. She has been teaching academic technique at the National Dance Academy since 1981. From 1988 to 1991 she was given the task of repertoire’s teacher and choreographing assistant. In 1991 she was invited as Maitre du Ballet at the San Carlo Theatre of Naples. 

Clarissa's students have participated in the most prestigious national and international competitions, achieving high success and top prizes. The majority of them now dance in famous national and international ballet companies.

In 2001 Clarissa joined as guest teacher the Ballet du Capitole in Toulouse(France)directed by Nanette Glushak. From 2000 to 2006 Mrs Mucci worked as Maitre de ballet in Teatro San Carlo in Naples, directed by Luciano Cannito first, following by the direction of Elisabetta Terabust, as well as since 2005 in Teatro dell' Opera in Rome, working side by side with Ms Carla Fracci.  September 2007-2008 she was a guest at Teatro alla Scala directed by Elisabetta Terabust.

Ms Mucci is also a guest teacher for one of the most popular international competition in Italy "Citta di Spoleto"organized by Mr Alberto Testa.

DANA FOGLIA - USA

HIP HOP

Dana Foglia has taught dance all over the United States and internationally. She trained extensively in ballet and modern with the Seiskaya Ballet Academy and later on a full scholarship to the Ailey School.  At the same time she also studied hip hop, pointe, jazz, tap and African.  Dana was honored when only a select few were chosen to perform with the Ailey Company in Memoria.

She has toured and performed with top artists including Beyonce, Janet Jackson, Rihanna, Kelis, New Kids on the Block, Fantasia and the Latin sensation Thalia and others. Most recently Dana worked with Beyonce for her “I Am…2009 Tour” as Assistant Choreographer, personally training and preparing Beyonce for this tour.

Dana has worked with top choreographers including Frank Gaston, Brian Friedman, Gil Duldalao, Tony Michaels, Rosaro and others.

She has performed in numerous TV and Award shows including So You Think You Can Dance, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, MTV VMA Awards, Teen Choice Awards, AMA Awards, World Music Awards, Billboard Awards, All My Children, Regis and Kelly, Dick Clark’s Rockin New Year’s Eve, the Today Show, Good Morning America, BET 106 & Park, Noble Peace Prize Concert, Jimmy Kimmel, Carson Daly and Jay Leno Shows.

You may have spotted her dancing side by side with Beyonce in “Single Ladies” at the World Music Awards.

Dana has appeared in numerous commercials including Haagen Daaz as a principal dancer and Acura. Dana is also featured in a hip hop instructional video produced in part by Broadway Dance Center.

JOSHUA PELATZKY - USA

CONTEMPORARY CHOREOGRAPHIC WORKSHOP

Joshua Pelatzky is originally from California. He received most of his training in Dallas, Texas. At 15 he joined the Bruce Wood Modern Dance Company. He continued his training at the Alvin Ailey School, Broadway Theatre Project and Ballet Magnificat. He has performed in musicals such as The Music Man, Bye Bye Birdie and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Joshua has also been seen in industrials for Bob Mackey, J.C. Penny, L’Oreal and the Designers Institute Foundation Fighting AIDS. He was featured in Opera Pacific's Aida in Orange County where he also was assistant choreographer. 
Joshua has received many awards for choreography and has been featured in several showcases internationally including Broadway Underground, Sirens After Dark and Botega. Assisting Michèle Assaf in many endeavors, one of the latest being for the Learning Channel Medical Miracles featuring Phineas Newborn and with the Tezero LIVE DVD series. He has taught contemporary jazz and hip-hop throughout the States, Japan, Canada, and Italy expanding to Poland and Prague this spring. He recently was featured on Style.com in their ‘Model Challenge’ series. Currently Joshua teaches at Broadway Dance Center in New York.

DAVID MARQUEZ - USA
MUSICAL THEATRE

David is presently Co-Directing and Choreographing a new Beatles music and dance concert extravaganza entitled Ticket To Ride at the historic Shubert Theater in New Haven Connecticut. He choreographed the 2006 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show for CBS television at the world famous Kodak Theater in Hollywood, California. He is the director and choreographer of a brand new untitled musical premiering in July as part of the 2007 New York International Dance Festival.

Broadway choreography includes: The Adventures of Tom Sawyer directed by Scott Ellis (She Loves Me) and The Gershwin's Fascinating Rhythm(Arizona Award; Best Choreography in a Musical) directed by Mark Lamos (Our Country's Good). He was the dance consultant on the Broadway play Stanley directed by John Caird (Les Miserables).David has also choreographed productions for The Long Wharf Theatre, Hartford Stage, Sharon Stage, and The Chicago Goodman Theater as well as an original dance entitled "Galileo" for which he won the 1994 Gypsy of the Year Absolut® Theatre Award as "Best of Show." For television he choreographed the PBS Great Performances production of "My Favorite Broadway: The Leading Ladies at Carnegie Hall," starring Julie Andrews and Jennifer Holiday, as well as several ABC daytime dramas including "One Life To Live" and "All My Children."

Direction: Andy Prescott: About Face, Dance With Me: An Evening of Original Musical Theater Choreography, West Side Story, and a staged reading of Eleanor Rigby Is Waiting, a new play by David Parr.

David has appeared on Broadway in Kiss of the Spider Woman (with Chita Rivera and Vanessa Williams) as well as the national tour of Jesus Christ Superstar (with Ted Neeley, Carl Anderson and Irene Cara.) And music videos for C&C Music Factory including the 1990's hit "Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)." David can be seen in the feature film El Cantante with Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony.

STACEY TOOKEY - USA/CANADA

CONTEMPORARY JAZZ

Originally from Canada, Stacey represented her country at the Adeline Genee awards in London,England, danced with Ballet British Columbia, Fusion Dance Company and as a member of the N.B.A.’s “Grizzlies Extreme Dance Team”. Upon moving to New York she has had the honor of working on projects with Bette Midler and Madonna . She has performed in concerts as a member of Mia Michaels Company R.A.W. including Jacobs pillow and with Parsons Dance Project in Seoul, Korea. Other performances included “Carmen” with the Houston Grand Opera and assistant choreographer of “A few Good Men Dancin” on Broadway. In 2002 , Stacey relocated to Las Vegas where she was original cast member for the entire 5 year run of Celine Dion’s show“A New Day” at Caesars Palace. Other performances with Celine include the Oprah Winfrey show, the 2004 World Music Awards, Larry King Live, CNN’s New Years countdown live in Times Square and A&E’s biography of Celine Dion. She has been slimed on National T.V. alongside Justin Timberlake dancing at the 2007 “Kids Choice Awards”. In addition to performing Stacey has taught master classes worldwide and is on faculty of West Coast Dance Explosion dance convention .Stacey has most recently been seen as one of the featured Choreographers and guest judges on “So You Think You Can Dance” both in Canada and the US.

STEFANIA DI COSMO - ITALY

BALLET

A 19 anni è prima ballerina presso il Landestheather Linz in Austria , successivamente lavora con il Teatro Verdi di Trieste e con il Teatro dell'Opera di Roma sotto la direzione di Elisabetta Terabust. Ha danzato nel ruolo di prima ballerina i più importanti balletti del repertorio classico come: Don Chisciotte, Fille Mal Gardee, Giselle, Coppelia, Lago dei Cigni, Romeo e Giulietta, Carmen. E’ stata ospite presso la Compagnia del Balletto Europeo dove in coppia con Raffaele Paganini ha danzato nei maggiori Teatri e Festival Italiani. Dal 1993 inizia la collaborazione come insegnante per danzatori professionisti presso il Centro Professionale di Studi I.A.L.S. Nel 1998 è ospite come Maître de ballet dell’associazione nazionale A.N.P.D.e T. e della Compagnia Balletto di Roma. Dal 1999 è insegnante presso il Centro Professionale di Danza A.I.D, per la Compagnia MDA Produzioni Danza e la Compagnia Mario Piazza. Nella stagione ‘99/2000 è stata assistente coreografo e maitres de ballet al Balletto di Toscana diretto da Cristina Bozzolini, dalla stagione 2001 è maitres de ballett presso l’Ater Balletto e insegnante per il Corso di Formazione Professionale per giovani danzatori del Centro Regionale per la Danza Ater. Nel 2003, è maitres de ballet e assistente alle coreografie per Amedeo Amodio presso il Teatro Massimo di Palermo. Dal 2002 è maitres de ballet e assistente stabile al Balletto di Roma.

Guest: Fitness festival (for 3 years), Mc contest( for 3 years), Jtb, Teatro Storchi. 2003- shortlisted for the Company Botega of Enzo Celli, she works together with the Botega per: Festival of Todi and Cividale with Carla Fracci, Arabella and Daniel Ezralow, Gheorghe Iancu, Alessandro Riga, Oplas, Spellbound dance company. 2004- Shortlisted as assistant for the choreography and dancer for the show "Il Moro " by Enzo Celli, she worked as assistant and dancer for the show "Circus" by Enzo Celli. Together with the company Botega they were guests during the TV show "Nuvolari" on channel Rai 2, hosted by Paola Saluzzi for Vittoria Cappelli. 2005- Assistant choreograph and dancer for the show "Uless ula" by Enzo Celli. She wins the contest Dancexperience for the best choreography. He worked as a Presenter for the Cruisin' : Mc hip-hop contest, Danceexperience nell'anno 2006. Dancer in the show "Amores" by Vittoria Ottolenghi and Vittoria Cappelli in 2006. He danced in the project in the national preview "Omidprojecteatre", choreography by Marisa Ragazzo in January 2006 during the MC hip hop contest in Jesolo. He teaches hip hop in the Accademia "TV dance" of Daniele Cipriani, together with other dancers like Bill Goodson, N'Mvula Sulgani, Tosca, Fabrizio Mainini, Franco Miseria, Claudio Insegno and many others for the complete training for show biz. Soloist in the show "L'amour et son Amour" during the Todi Arte Festival together with Roberto Bolle, Hector Budella, Vladimir Derevianko, Gheorghe Iancu, Viviana Durante, Balletto del Teatro di Roma, Balletto di Toscana in 2005. Protagonist in the TV show "Amici di Maria de Filippi" - Chanel 5, for nine month, attending dancing, singing and acting lessons in 2003. He took part in "Domenica in" - Rai Uno – with the company "Botega" for the singer Elisa in 2002. Dancer in the company "Teatro Koros" of Massimo Morricone in 2002. Scholarship for training courses by Mauro Astolfi in 2002. Took part of the hip-hop group "Extralarge", founded and choreographed by him, during national and international championships from 1998 to 2002, getting the following classifications: 1. classified - Federfunky; 1. classified FIA; 1. classified - MC funk festival. With the hip-hop "group Extralarge" he took part in the world championship of di hip-hop, in Tours, France. As a soloist at the national championship of hip-hop he classified first. NAI ITALY

HIP HOP

NAI moved to New York City in 2005 from Italy. She began her strong and diversified training at her mother’s dance academy in Sicily. From the early age of 7 Nai began her career performing on stage, TV & film and continues to perform as well as choreograph throughout United States and Europe.

Since moving to NYC, Nai has been dancing and choreographing for DANCE 2XS and many other local companies and artists. She was a soloist for DECADANCETHEATRE, one of the most important female dance companies in the Hip Hop industry. Other performing credits include: TASTE, a female Hip Hop Company, as well as music videos on BET and MTV for Tiffany Evans, TV on the Radio and F’N’ MTV.

She currently is on faculty at The Pulse Performing Arts and Central Park Dance in Westchester as well as at Arias Dance NYC. She teaches master classes and choreographs for many schools worldwide. Nai’s choreography competes with high success (winner of Dance Educators of America, Starbound Talent Competition, Star Systems Talent Competition, Jump Convention and many others).

She is an extraordinary teacher, as her training came from a strong Classical and Jazz background, she has the tools and knowledge to breakdown and explain any style of dance. Nai is extremely caring and giving to her students. Her style is versatile, from Video-dance to commercial Hip Hop, Poppin’, Lockin’ and Krumpin’. Through her dance she is able to capture the strength of woman and men as well. In her class she promotes a positive attitude, individuality, self-expression and self-respect for all her students.

SHELLY MASENOIR - USA 

UNCOVERED CHOREOGRAPHY WORKSHOP

Shelly is a dancer, actress, singer, producer, teacher, choreographer and jewelry designer in New York City. Performing credits include Radio City Music Hall, Warner Brothers Films, Disney, New Line Cinema, Off-Broadway and Regional Theatre, International Arts Festival in Italy, Care Wave Japan, National and European Tours including "Fame, the Musical", Bye Bye Birdie, Irene, and West Side Story, asst choreographer for "Falco", a new multi-media show in Vienna, Austria based on the late 80's pop star. She has been on the creative teams and performed in operas such as Candide, Samson and Delilah and Aida, also as associate choreographer; choreographer for Disney's High School Musical and various industrials. TV appearances include MTV, CBS Morning Show, ABC, Saturday Night Live, Lipstick Jungle, The Today Show, David Letterman, The Learning Channel, dancer for Wyclef Jean and in Lou Begas "Mambo #5". With 15 years of deep and diverse teaching experience with all levels and ages, she has taught at various studios around the US, Germany, Italy, Austria, Argentina, Japan, Costa Rica, Cirque Du Soleil, Broadway Dance Center in New York and continues to travel around the country for master classes, choreography, and private instruction.

JASON PARSONS - USA 

MODERN JAZZ

Jason has been an inspired artist since he grew up in Rochester NY. Landing in NYC, Jason has trained with some of the best master teachers and choreographers. He has performed with companies such as River North Dance Company, Mia Michaels R.A.W, Dinyos Dance Company (Japan) and the POZ Dance Theater (South Korea). His Industrial credits include Sony, BMW, DaeWoo and General Motors. He has danced with Recording Artist Diana King, SWV and Celine Dion and his television credits include Fame L.A, Star Search and The Essence Awards.
Jason has created work for Rasta Thomas's Bad Boys of Dance, Odyssey, HoustonMet and the Evolution Dance Company. Internationally his work has been performed at the Gwang Ju Biennale Festival (South Korea), Baudelaire (Japan), Artedanza (Italy), Nokia Awards (Czech Rep.), Minjockchoom Cultural Festival (South Korea), Puglia Danza (Italy) and the Seoul Contemporary Jazz Dance Festival (South Korea). He has graced the cover of Dance Magazine in South Korea, Italy, and has also appeared in the book Moving Still. In May of 2007 Jason collaborated with Italian Artist Elena Parisi to create a moving installation for her premiere exhibition in Milan, Italy. In February 2008, Jason initially formed his own company called The Red Vern Collective. His company has premiered at festivals here in New York City. He is on faculty at Steps in New York City and has taught all over the U.S., Canada, Italy, England, Japan, South Korea and the Czech Republic.

MISHAY PETRONELLI - USA

HIP HOP

Mishay Petronelli is an accomplished choreographer, teacher and dancer. Mishay has taught and choreographed at award winning studios around the United States and is on faculty for competions such as DanceXplosion, Rising Star, and Ticket to Broadway. Mishay currently canbe found teaching at Broadway Dance Center in NYC and assisting Michèle Assaf. She can be seen as a principal dancer in the Contemporary Jazz with Brice Mousset DVD, The Care and Feeding of a Dancer with Toni Branner DVD and Keri LaGrand’s Jazz DVD for Tremaine Dance. She is also a featured performer in Rhapsody James’s show Siren Assasins as well as in the DanceStuff promo choreographed by Joshua Pelatzky. Her credits also include Broadway Underground, a Diesel Fashion Show, Virtual Casting for StageDoor Productions, as well as being a member of Jared Grimes company “T.A.D.A.H.”.

HIP HOP

Born in Brooklyn and raised in the Bronx Rhapsody James has been dancing since the age of seven and choreographing since the age of sixteen. After receiving her degree in Social Sciences in the Arts at Purchase College, Rhapsody decided follow her dreams of being a choreographer. She started her career as an intern at record labels such as Loud, Uptown, Motown, and Universal. She landed a job at Sony Music as an Executive Assistant. This further ignited her passion for the music business and choreography. Her drive for choreography lead her to make the decision to leave Sony Music. Soon after, Rhapsody became one of the two main choreographers of the NBA New Jersey Nets Dance Team, and principal dancer in one of the hottest videos of the summer, "Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See" by Busta Rhymes. She also had the pleasure of appearing on MTV's The Grind, VH-1 80's Dance Party, VH-1 Fashion Awards and Lip Service.

Performing was a great passion of Rhapsody's,but she soon realized that for her to be a great choreographer, she first would need to be a great teacher.Rhapsody began teaching at Broadway Dance Center, where her classes flourished and is now one of the hottest and most popular Commercial Hip Hop teachers today. Rhapsody is also apart of the esteemed faculty of Monsters of Hip Hop Dance Convention. Discipline and a healthy learning environment is what she promotes in her class as well as good fun. Los Angeles, Miami, Japan, London, Finland, Switzerland, Germany, and Australia are just a few places where Rhapsody has taught.

Now a professional choreographer in the music business Rhapsody's credits including Beyonce, The Jonas Brothers, The Pussycat Dolls,The Spice Girls, Cassie, Jay Sean, Donnie Klang, Step Up 2: The Streets Feature Film, Making The Band 4, and many different commercials for the NY lottery, Citeron Car Company and ESPN. Aside from being a world reknowned teacher and choreographer , Rhapsody is also the Artistic Director/ Choreographer of her own dance company called no other than Rhapsody: The Company. Rhapsody: The Company is dedicated to blurring the boundaries between Hip Hop, modern and jazz with their unique contemporary fusion style of "street jazz" that expresses an eclectic vision of beauty and rawness.
